Overview

As the peak organisation for all Language Teachers, MLTAQ Inc has a vital interest in providing quality professional learning. In order to promote a consistently high quality standard of activity and consistent pricing for registration and clarity for members / participants, a number of underlying principles will guide facilitators development of professional learning opportunities.

MLTAQ Inc acknowledges that there are a variety of modes which professional learning can be facilitated. Each mode of professional learning has its own set of criteria, characteristics and pricing structure. Generally, professional learning can be categorised into one of three (3) broad modes: Workshop; Seminar; Conference.

• Workshop – usually 3 hours duration, volunteer presenter, certificate to participants, Member registration $40 / Non-member registration $50
• Seminar – usually 6 hours duration, presenter may be paid, certificate to participants, Member registration $80 / Non-member registration $100
• Conference – 2 or more consecutive whole days of activity, mixture of volunteer and paid presenters, certificate to participants, price will reflect duration of activity, venue, etc. Non member price will be sufficient to include membership.

Feb 27 - Process Drama for Language Teachers (Facilitator: Julia Rothwell), Location: Ferny Grove SHS. Cost: $40 (Members) / $50 (Non-members). Click here for further details.

Mar 6 - Using Whiteboards in the Language Classroom (Presentation as part of MLTAQ AGM). No cost.

Apr 9-10 - Beginning and Returning Language Teachers Workshop Program (Multiple facilitators) Location: O'Shea Centre, Lovedale St, Wilston, Brisbane. Cost $100 (Members) / $150 (Non-members). Click here for further details.

Jun 28-Jul 1 - Professional Standards Project - Stream B (Multiple facilitators), Location: UQ. Cost: $350 (Members) / $500 (Non-members). Residential option may be available
