Membership 2010

(Membership applies per calendar year) Membership fees will rise in 2011. Memberships paid after November 1 will be carried over to 2011.

# Corporate membership is intended for institutions such as publishers etc (not including schools) and entitles the member institution to two half page advertisements per year in either the MLTAQLinQ or MLTAQ Journal in addition to the receipt of publications.

Don't forget membership is TAX DEDUCTIBLE.

Membership benefits (for Individual & student members) include:

• access to data on current practice and research;
• copies of the MLTAQ Journal and MLTAQLinQ (newsbrief) publications
• contact with other professionals working in the teaching and/or learning of languages;
• workshops/seminars for language teachers;
• a State Conference for teachers of languages every two years.
• functions for students, e.g. Oktoberfest, language speech contests, Bastille Day celebrations, Indonesian Days;
• state-wide and national competitions for students of languages
• free or discounted entry to MLTAQ-run workshops and discounted fees for both state and national conferences.

MLTAQ MEMBERSHIP

The following is an expanded outline of the entitlements of each category of membership.

CATEGORY

Individual

• Receives one copy of each MLTAQ Journal (3 times per year) & the AFMLTA refereed journal Babel (also 3 times per year)
• Members are notified via email when the electronic LinQ Newsletter is published on the MLTAQ website approx every two months
• ~Receives discount entry for MLTAQ functions for the nominated teacher only
• Receives discount registration for MLTAQ/AFMLTA conferences for the nominated teacher only
• Capitation is paid to a branch if indicated on the membership form
• Can have up to two email addresses included in the MLTAQ email list
• Students of the teacher – at any school at which the teacher works – have the right to participate in MLTAQ events run for students – students MUST be supervised by the member to be covered by the MLTAQ insurance
• If a member has a personal website which has to do with language teaching and resources, the member may have a link to their site included on the MLTAQ website – such requests are to be dealt with individually by the executive as appropriate

Full time student

• Receives one copy of each MLTAQ Journal (3 times per year) & the AFMLTA refereed journal Babel (also 3 times per year)
• Members are notified via email when the electronic LinQ Newsletter is published on the MLTAQ website approx every two months
• Receives discount entry for MLTAQ functions for the nominated teacher
• Receives discount registration for MLTAQ/AFMLTA conferences for the nominated teacher
• Capitation is NOT paid to a branch even if indicated on the membership form (fees are not sufficient to cover this)
• Can have up to two email addresses included in the MLTAQ email list

Overseas

• Receives one copy of each MLTAQ Journal (3 times per year) & the AFMLTA refereed journal Babel (also 3 times per year)
• Members are notified via email when the electronic LinQ Newsletter is published on the MLTAQ website approx every two months
• Receives discount entry for MLTAQ functions
• Receives discount registration for MLTAQ/AFMLTA conferences
• Capitation is NOT paid to a branch if indicated on the membership form

Life

• Receives discount entry for MLTAQ functions for up to two personnel
• Receives discount registration for MLTAQ/AFMLTA conferences for up to two personnel
• Capitation is NOT paid to a branch
• Can have up to two email addresses included in the MLTAQ email list
• Can have up to two free half page advertisements in either the LinQ or Journal
• Can have a reference/link to the (corporate) business website on the MLTAQ website (contact webmaster@mltaq.asn.au for further details)

Journal ONLY subscription

• Receives the MLTAQ Journal ONLY
• Is not eligible to receive discount entry for MLTAQ events and conferences
• Is NOT covered by MLTAQ insurance
